He came to me broken, shattered and torn,
A man so lost, so hurt and forlorn.
I gave him my heart, my love and my trust,
Helped him through his worst, his pain and his lust.
I held his hand through the darkest of days,
I wiped his tears, chased his fears away.
He leaned on me, and I held him tight,
Promised him that everything would be alright.
But one day, he changed, and I couldn’t see,
The man I knew was no longer who he used to be.
He pushed me away, ignored my pleas,
Broke my heart with his careless ease.
I couldn’t understand how he could forget,
All the love and kindness that we had met.
I gave him everything, but it was not enough,
He left me alone, feeling lost and tough.
I thought we had something that would last,
But he shattered my heart and left me in the past.
I still see him, but it’s not the same,
I still feel the hurt, the anger, the shame.
I helped him through his worst, but he forgot,
That I was a person, not just a band-aid or a thought.
He broke my heart, and it will take time to mend,
But I will rise, and I will heal in the end.
